Improve The Way You Sing With Vocal Training

By Skyler Jett

We are all born with a gift, and this gift comes in many different forms. You probably have a talent in public speaking, or a talent in writing... or both. Whether your gift is in performing arts, like singing, dancing and/or acting... they will be nothing if they aren't perfected. Remember, you and other people will be able to fully appreciate your gift or talent it is is utilized.

Now, let's talk about the gift of music, specifically the gift of having a great singing voice. For those who don't really know what's up and about singing, they often think that all the professional singers out there were simply born to sing. What they do not know is that these singer spend thousand and thousand of times to hone their voice through vocal training.

For example, we have all seen the arduous auditions for American Idol. The majority of these hopefuls are talented. Sure they can carry a tune. But, this writer believes that the judges do only seek the person who can carry a tune. Does he or she have the potential for greatness? Does this one person, after having vocal training, be the next singing sensation?

The contestants of American Idol also have to undergo a series of vocal training. They have to master their songs. When we say master... we mean that the contestants got to sing the song in pitch, with emotions and with the heart. Now, the only way to do it is to understand first the deeper meaning of the song itself.

Vocal training is really a must for those who want to sing professionally. Keep in mind, singing is not just about belting and bellowing your lungs out. We have seen a lot of singers faltered for delivering a song by a flat voice. With vocal training, you will be able to learn how to sing properly and how to take good care of your singing voice.

Becoming a professional singer takes a lot of time, effort and even money. It is a serious business for those who really want to become one, more so... for those that singing is their bread-and-butter. There's no way they can let a moment pass without doing anything to improve the talent that they have. You can opt to use synthesizers alright, to make your sound good. But this won't definitely take you to where you want really to be.. and that's the singing stardom.

If there's one thing that you can get in vocal training other than honing your singing voice, that would be discipline. This learning can really take you to where you want to be someday. With discipline, you will be able to keep yourself away form temptations of smoking, drinking and all-night partying. Bear in mind, if you've got the talent, you have to hone it, and then take good care of it. Otherwise, that talent is nothing. Your voice is your asset, and nothing can take that away from you, unless you let them.

Sweets and dairy are not exactly prohibited but it is best if you do not consume much. This sort of food is mucus-forming, hindering the movement of your vocal chords. Smoking contributes to the deterioration of the muscles, limiting your range and shortening your breath. Alcohol is dehydrating so when your entire body suffers, the quality of your voice is also deeply affected.

You have a gift. It is a gift that can touch people's lives. Use it. But before that, hone it. Enroll in a vocal training program. - 18423

How You Should Host A Karaoke Contest or Party

By Janet Keaton

Everyone enjoys a competition or contest. Particularly if it means a chance to show off a persons accomplishments or talent, rather than just depending on chance. That is what makes a karaoke competition so hot.

You will by and large be hired by some organisation, club or event to accommodate the karaoke competition. So to those attending and participating, in their minds it will be your contest, even though it was the organizers making. You will be held responsible for anything that goes wrong, for good example a mix up in contestants or awful judging. Its your good name that is at stake here. Acknowledging this, guarantee that you retain as much control as manageable. Recognise precisely what the programs of the organizers are, and possibly open them propositions as to how to verify that the competition runs smoothly and is productive.

To begin with, verify with the organisers what categories do they want. Usually it will be best male, female and duet. Then if its a family event you could go by age groups as well, meaning, children, minors and grownups. Another alternative will be perhaps style of music such as rock, country and western rap or golden oldies. What is determined will be the measure of time being granted for this karaoke competition and the amount of contestants.

Judgments is important in these events. If people dont find the judgments is just, the crowd and players will get very disaffected, and you are the one thats going to end up with the bad name. So you have 2 alternatives, you can get 2 or 3 judges with you, or have the organizers offer them. It is desirable to have 3 judges. If the organizers are furnishing the judges make sure you reexamine them first, if you are indecisive about any of them then do not use them, A partial judge could smash the whole karaoke event. If the organisers are providing the judges possibly they could submit you with 6 people and you could pick three from this.

You take control of the contest enrolment forms. Ideally you will want to have the music pick posted where their choice could be made right on the form. This will in the long run facilitate things to move more promptly, and be more methodical at the time of the karaoke contest. Be assured that contestants know they must print their name clearly ,so you will be able to call it out when its time. You essentially can use two ways to use to maintain the order of contestants. You can either go by A to Z, or you can put all the names in a pot and draw them out randomly. This way you are not going to get any fuss of who goes when.

Looking on how many categories you are getting ,will decide how many contestants you are going to permit. There must be a cut off time for registration as well. For the scoring system by the judges there are all kinds of things you could use to score the contestants singers on, but this is a fun evening so keep it simple. An ideal way to score is how tough the song was to sing between 1-50 and how complete the performance was 1-100. Thats genuinely what karaoke is all about: Having fun and singing enjoyably. - 18423

Guitar Lesson For Beginners - A Great Riff Which Sounds Fantastic In Any Rock/Blues Solo

By Mike Jones

Dear friend and fellow guitarist,

Here's another FREE guitar lesson from your friend Mike Jones from KillerGuitarTips.com

In this article I will show you a great little riff that fits in superbly with any rock/blues solo.

Looking at the blues scale in A minor. We need to add two notes at the 7th fret on the 1st and 2nd string creating a great pull off riff and we use the same finger technique on each string.

So here we go.

Play the 8th fret on the 1st string with your fourth finger and pull off to the 7th fret (held down with your 3rd finger) and pull off again to the 5th fret (1st finger). Do this on strings 1,2 and 3 and then for your final note play the 7th fret on the 4th string.

This is a great killer guitar riff.

Please bear in mind that these tips are in no particular order. But on my full guitar tutoring program it's structured in such a way as to follow on in chronological order bringing the beginner through to great player in the shortest possible time.

Enjoy your guitar playing and don't stop until your fingers bleed!!! only joking,,,

Before leaving you I would like to give you another FREE mini guitar lesson...

So, to finish here's a cool pentatonic trick that will make any budding guitarist sound like a pro in any guitar solo. Simply learn the pentatonic scale on one string then pull eac h note off to the open string.

So let's take the 1st string (top E) and the minor pentatonic scale. So starting with the open E then 3rd fret (G), 5th fret (A), 7th fret (B), 10th fret (D), 12th fret (E).

Play the open E, then play the G and pull off to the open string. Then play the A at the 5th fret and pull off to the open string.

Continue this up the string following the scale for a Killer Guitar Riff...

You may be a little confused as to how all these tips fit together. Don't panic as my brand new DVD audio, video program will explain everything you need to know in a chronological order bringing your learning and progression on as quickly as possible using unique speed learning techniques I have developed over two decades of teaching guitar.

OK, that's it for now and I will catch up with you again next time with more FREE guitar lessons.

Enjoy
