Sharp Write Ups Of A Few Films

By Ray Hill

Take a look at some movie reviews we have prepared. You can find a lot of information on movie downloads sites if you do a good search. There are a lot of different phrases you can use, try "Online Video Rental", "DVD Online Rental", or "Music Videos Downloads".

Red Sonja: A spectacularly stupid sword and magic myth with lady lead, based on mush writings of Robert E. Howard (of Conan popularity). May entertain adolescent watchers, although only point of interest for grownups is choosing who gives the worse acting job, Nielsen or villainess Bergman. Cast includes Brigitte Nielsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Paul Smith, Emie Reyes, Jr., Ronald Lacey, and Pat Roach. (89 minutes, 1985)

Shack Out on 101: Lee Marvin is a cook named Slob at a seaside greasy spoon in this cold war classic. The waitress (Terry Moore) seems to be spending most of her time fending off the lecherous advances of almost all her co-stars, but in fact she is trying to stop nuclear secrets from leaving the country. This is positively a one of a kind film, with most of the action taking place on a lone shabby set. Cast includes Terry Moore, Frank Lovejoy, Lee Marvin, Keenan Wynn, and Whit Bissell. (90 minutes, 1955)

Kingdom of Heaven: A blacksmith, reeling from personal catastrophe, is influenced to join the Crusades by an illustrious knight, who says he is the young gentleman's dad. The new knight shows his mettle by demonstrating himself a man of the people who battles to accomplish harmony between the Muslims and the Christians when guarding Jerusalem. Impressive, mythical film manages to find nobility in the Crusades, although by no means loses sight of its core personality's personal voyage. Cast includes Orlando Bloom, Limn Neeson, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Marton Csokas, Ghassan Massoud, Edward Norton, and Jon Finch. (145 minutes, 2005)

Requiem for a Heavyweight: The solemn account of boxer, Quinn, whose ring days are over, pushing him into corruption and degradation. His sleazy supervisor Gleason, understanding teacher Rooney, and Harris as unrealistic city employee are all fine. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason, Mickey Rooney, Julie Harris, Nancy Cushman, Madame Spivy, and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali). (100 minutes, 1952)

Nutcracker the Motion Picture: Much of this rendition of The Nutcracker, acted by the Pacific Northwest Ballet, is like a music video with rapid cutting and close-ups of legs, faces, and elbows. This is extremely irritating. However the Tchaikovsky music is, obviously, amazing, as are Maurice Sendak's sets and costumes. Cast includes Hugh Bigney, Vanessa Sharp Patricia Barker, Plod Walthall, Russell Burnett, and the voice of Julie Harris. (89 minutes, 1986)

Ruby's Fantasy: Smooth although typical drive-in fare in regards to a shell-shocked Vietnam vet who finds himself the object of an enormous manhunt in a small Alabama town. It is the same elementary tale as First Blood which came later. Cast includes Linda Blair, Ben Johnson, Matt Clark, and Richard Famsworth. (91 minutes, 1982)

The Dunwich Horror: Adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's tale in regards to wizard Stockwell's malevolent plans for lady friend Dee. The movie is often powerful, although the ending spoils the entire film. Cast includes Sandra Dee, Dean Stockwell, Ed Begley, Sam Jaffe, Lloyd Bochner, Joanna Moore, and Talia Coppola. (90 minutes, 1970)

Sidewalk Stories: Alluring, Chaplinesque fantasy that, in its own humble way, boldly remarks on the plight of the destitute in America. Lane stars as a destitute gentleman battling for existence on the roads of Greenwich Village who finds himself caring for a small child whose father has been stabbed by robbers. Cast includes Charles Lane, Nicole Alysia, Sandye Wilson, Darnell Williams, and Trula Hoosier. (97 minutes, 1989)

Man of Iron: The somber account of Germi, a railroad architect, whose life takes a catastrophic turn, influencing his entire family. Cast includes Pietro Germi, Luisa Della Noce, Sylva Kascina, and Carla Giuffre. (116 minutes, 1956)

Movie downloads can be found for nearly any movie made. To find online download sites, try "Top DVD Rentals" or "Online Movies Tv" in the search engines. You can search "Download DVD Movies" if the others don't help you. - 18423

How Did Karaoke Music Began - History and Facts

By Isabel Swift

Karaoke has become a favorite amongst all age groups ,even though the ones that may recognize the least about it are the seniors. Nonetheless in a sense they experience to a greater extent about it then the younger ones. Long Time ago this golden age group, were in the habit of getting together at a party or a club and singing all the old golden songs and songs they grew up with. The only thing truly absent was the player.

With the birth of karaoke came the birth of a lot of self confidence. Individuals that normally would be too shy to get up and sing before a crowd, seem to find it much simpler if a lot of other are going tosing too.

Karaoke was founded in Japan. Theres a narrative going around that a bar owner had engaged some entertainment that didnt show up. So out of despair he put on some tapes and asked in anyone preferred to sing. As the narrative goes, the night was a solid success and thus the birth of this extraordinary pass time. The citizens of Japan especially enjoy doing hit songs from the Beatles and Elvis. They have adjusted quite a liking for western music. This is a serious bonus for established exchange pupils. In addition it is a phenomenal aid for brushing up the English language.

In the very beginning it was rather a elementary system. One would merely put a record on and someone would sing along with it. Then it moved up onto videos with computer graphics. Lastly now the more sophisticated version is the karaoke machine that consists of a mike and a tv screen to follow along the song with. Much like when we were youngsters and would see a song on tv and sing along by following the bouncing ball.

An entertaining problem that had to be worked out in Japan was the dissonance element. The homes are posited very close together in that land, so an individual singing at the top of his lungs could be quite a beguilement for the neighbors, no matter how great the vocalist was. To work out that issue they forged the karaoke box. In fact the first packages were railway cars that manage to contain the music quite nicely.

Karaoke seems to be a true ice breaker. Where individuals may not commonly socialise with each other. it appears an individual getting up and singing clears the way to conversation. Oftentimes a person is congratulated on how well they done when they got off stage, and a conversation may start out.

Its is a first-class instrument to build confidence in youngsters. Most minors love to sing and will convey themselves through songs. Some are quite shy however. Having the music to trace seems to give them self-confidence, as though they are not alone when they are before the audience.

Of course the word Karaoke is a Japanese word. Kara signifies empty and oke means olestra which equals orchestra. It for sure is a great fashion to spend a fun night full of entertainment. - 18423

Choosing Your MP3 Player

By Helena Enteerha

If you're thinking about getting an MP3 player then you need to brush up on MP3 player basics. There are many makes and models to choose from but some of them are not very good quality. Some players double as video players, or have advanced audio functions built in as a secondary feature. Finding a player that's just limited to playing music is something of a rarity these days.

Playing music is just one of the many features you can find on the Apple iPod. In fact, they are so far ahead of everyone else, some of the benefits aren't found on other units. Simplicity of use is perhaps their biggest feature, and it took some time before other companies were able to challenge them in usability. Using an iPod is as simple as downloading songs, and playing them for your enjoyment.

There are many iPod knock-off brands out there, especially at smaller local stores and gift shops. These are typically to be avoided however. They might be cheap, but their lifespan is usually comically short. And obviously they will be sorely lacking in features.

Another thing to think about is the battery life. Most of the cheaper models will use triple As, which fade out quickly. In today's world most of the models will use rechargeable lithium ion batteries. What it will come down to is whether or not you want to purchase batteries every month or just recharge the unit.

One of the most important, but overlooked MP3 player basics is the durability. People will often flock to a new product because it has a certain feature, but they will not wait and see how it holds up to user tests. This can often result in buying a fragile product that can be damaged very easily. Replacing your player in two months is not something you want to have to do because of poor craftsmanship.

This happens very rarely with major name brands and outlets, but cheaper companies and stores cut corners where they can. This is why it's best to do your research before committing to buy any particular player. The Apple iPod for example is subjected to various manufacturer tests before being allowed on the market. You can still break it if you try, but it won't break from general usage.

Oh, and we can't forget about the button layout. On some occasions, you can find cheap alternatives that only have 2 buttons; stop and play. These are actually out there, but you find these in lower income outlets. This is truly the bottom of the barrel, and if you get one of these you're just waiting for disaster to strike.

What it comes down to is you just need to do a bit of research before purchasing an MP3 Player. Whether you are looking at the functions, checking the life of the battery, or wondering about the durability, the info can be found fairly quickly nowadays. If you don't have the time or don't feel like dealing with the hassles, then just purchase an Apple iPod. The Shuffle is cheap (starts around $50) but has no visual display, while the Nano (around $140) is a great player with a natural interface. The Classic (around $230 and up) has a larger display, and the Touch ($200 and up) has Internet access where Wi-Fi is available. You can also find new units of the previous generation pretty easily, and get a 10% or higher discount on those prices. - 18423
