Stay Fit With Music

By Gregory Paul

Lets face it. One of the challenges of getting in shape is being consistent. Most of us find working out tedious and frankly it is hard to keep on when what youre doing is hard and repetitive. These days though, people have relied on one thing to make exercise really interesting and fun. While it is difficult to strain our muscles and sweat it out, it could be a very enjoyable activity if you can rock to the beat at the same time.

There are ways to enjoy music while working out. Of course you have to match the intensity so you bring out the giant speakers and woofers but that may not work right with your neighbors. Perhaps you'd like to try using head or earpieces. Thanks to technology, we can now privately enjoy rocking tunes without disturbing others.

Choosing the right earphones needs a bit of consideration. It may surprise you that there are actually some thought that you need to do in finding the right piece for you. There are regular headphones, water resistant headphones, sweat resistant pieces, and there are some that works at temperatures as low as ten degrees; perfect for winter sports athletes. I've heard that they are now selling sport optimized fit earphones. An answer to my falling earphone problem.

The color and the weight of an earphone are among the things to consider. Do they fit your lifestyle, gender, or would you look good in it? Do they match your wardrobe? I am not that fuzzy about earphone fashion but i know of some people who are.

One of the problems I have with my earphones is the cables. I have many pieces because I prefer different lengths on different occasions. Some of them have long cables, and they get caught up with anything all the time. Some are a bit short that when I move it falls off my ear or gets disconnected from my ipod.

Audio is quite important to me as I am also a singer. It has to produce the audio quality that i want. I like strong bass tones and i want to hear a clear separation of the high and midtones. If you are like me, you would want the volume to be really up there.

The accessories could make or break the earphones. Rubber casings and magnetic clasps are big winners to some as these may come handy when you wanna get them in a hurry or when you are wearing gloves. I personally like those that come with clips so i can keep the cables away when i need to.

Despite the complexities of finding the right gear for me, they are there to help me in a big way. I need to stay healthy, I need to stay fit consistently. These pieces diminutive as they may be has kept me working, has kept me healthy, and has kept me alive. - 18423

Movie Adaptations From Splendid Children's Books

By Roberto V Riley

Various of the best children's films have been adapted from splendid children's writing. Dearly loved family books that have stood the test of time often make fantastic children's movies. Most of these films are good on their own but a inquiry is how strongly do the films stick to the storyline of the book?

In 2008, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi was made into a film. There are five books in the book sequence but only one movie has been completed so far. It follows the adventure of a family of kids who find a odd book in their new home that leads them into a world filled with trolls and goblins, elves, dwarves and other creatures.

The dearly loved kids book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl was first in print in 1964. It has been modified into two popular movies, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in 1971, starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka and from 2005 "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.

In 1952, the writer, E.B. White brought us one of the most favorite kids tales of all time with "Charlotte's Web". The book has stayed in print continuously since its first publication. An cartoon film of "Charlotte's Web" was released in 1973. In December 2006, a live action film version was released. Both movies followed the original story faithfully.

One of the most adored children's authors of all time is Dr. Seuss. More and more of his great books are now being made into movies. In 2008 with Jim Carrey as the voice of the main character, "Horton Hears A Who" came out. This film was an animated feature film that very precisely followed the story of the book.

Another Seuss masterpiece, "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" was made into an cartoon rendering in 1966 and it still shows on many program listings through the holiday season. The animated rendering follows the account unerringly. Nevertheless, in the year 2000, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" the live action edition came out with Jim Carrey in the lead role as the Grinch. In that movie many new events and scenes were added. In the 2003 version of "The Cat and the Hat" also by Dr. Seuss, liberties were again taken and the storyline was added to with events and scenes not found in the book.

One of the highest grossing film series of all time is from the family books about Harry Potter authored by J.K. Rowling. At this point 6 of the seven books have been made into films with a plan to make 2 movies from the 7th installment for a total of 8 films. This series is the 2nd highest grossing series in times past after James Bond.

Kids books often turn into movies that are enjoyable for the entire family to view. Reading the books aloud to your children and watching the films collectively is a wonderful family pursuit, where excellent reminiscences can be made. - 18423

George "The Possum" Jones

By James G. Pynn

If you know -- good. If you don't -- you should. George Jones was one of the hardest drinking, fastest living son of a guns in all of country music history. Admittedly living a life modeled after his hero, Hank Williams, George Jones blazed a trail of infamy and heartache across the wide-open plains of country music history. Known for his distinctive voice and loose phrasing style, the exploits of George Jones have passed from mere stories into legend.

According to Country Music Television, Jones is the "the greatest living country singer" today. In true George Jones style, I'm sure hed say something to the effect, "it's the living part that's tricky." His clever turn of phrases and unusual vocal style can best be sampled on such legendary hits as "White Lightin'" and "If the Drinkin' Don't Kill Me." Then again, all of his songs carry that signature sound.

Of course Jones was famously married to Tammy Wynette. This marriage made in madness was the stuff of legend, often requiring the services of the local sheriff to help them mediate. Of course that's a fancy word for "cool off." Between his drinking problem and her drug addiction, it was not the high point of marital bliss for either one of them, When it all came crashing down in 1975, no one was surprised.

Despite being in to his seventies now, George Jones has not stopped recording or touring. Indeed, he is on tour this summer and is coming to a local gin joint near you. Though there might no be as much pep in his step, his voice is as rich and full as ever. No one can turn a song like The Possum. For those of you not in the know, that's his nickname.

Getting your hands on a set of George Jones tickets is as easy as pie. You just have to follow the links to the best little booking service around. Don't wait until the last minute and fall prey to the scalpers. Get a great ticket at a fair price and sleep well at night. But do it quick, because the Possum is not on tour for long. - 18423
