Movies To See

By Frank Torres

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. High speed internet access has now made it possible to download movies right off a movie download site. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

The Geisha Boy: Jerry, an inept warlock, voyages to Japan with catastrophic repercussions. Imaginative graphic gags; there's a cute pattern characterizing the Los Angeles Dodgers and, specifically, Gil Hodges. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Marie McDonald, Sessue Hayakawa, Nobu McCarthy, Suzanne Pleshette, Barton MacLane, and Robert Hirano. (98 minutes, 1958)

Hanky Panky: Blameless designer Crazier is pursued by snoops, cops, etc. Unsurprising, hardly ludicrous comedy-thriller, with Radner miscast as the love interest. The film was meant to be a follow-up to Mix Insane, although Richard Pryor's part was revised for Gilda. You've seen it all before, and more superior. Cast includes Gene Crazier, Gilda Radner, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark, Robert Prosky, Josef Sommer, and Johnny Sekka. (88 minutes, 1982)

The Interpreter: U.N. translator Silvia Broome overhears a death threat made against an African leader. She knows that she was seen and fears for her life. Upon reporting the event to law enforcement, she finds that help will not come easy.

Frontier Marshal: Vibrant retelling of occurrences leading to legendary gunfight at the Alright Corral Scott is fine as Tombstone's new marshal, Wyatt Earp. Romero is more moody than cold-blooded as Dr. Halliday, and Kelly is the gal from his past who alerts Dr. of his earlier, saner nights as an obstetrician. Cast includes Randolph Scott, Nancy Kelly, Cesar Romero, Binnie Barnes, John Carradine, and Eddie Foy. (71 minutes, 1939)

Internal Affairs: Young cop Raymond Avila works in the Internal Affairs Department of the LAPD. He hand his partner see something suspicious with Dennis Peck. His financial situation is much stronger than expected on a policeman's salary. Once Peck is aware of the investigation, he turns his attention away from his corrupt dealings to focus on Avila.

The movie was filmed in South Africa. Cast includes Oliver Reed, Donald Pleasence, Romy Windsor, Rufus Swart, Norman Coombes, and Anne Stradi. (90 minutes, 1988)

Curly Sue: Destitute con performer and his adopted waif parasite onto a tightly wound plate of a lawyer. She, in turn decides that this 4-flushing couple is just what she needs to improve her life. Lynch's evident distress recommends she might have seen the hurries. Cast includes James Belushi, Kelly Lynch, Alisan Porter, John Getz, Fred Dalton Thompson, Cameron Thor, Steve Carell, and Edie McClurg. (101 minutes, 1991)

By Manuel Z Owens

It is not as simple to find a movie that one and all in the entire family unit loves. Very few films come with a G rating, as even most of the animated children's movies are a PG rating for parental guidance. It is more cool to view as a family.

One wonderful children's movie that has withstood the test of time is "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". This film is in reality the 10th best-selling motion picture of all time for all genres. It was also Walt Disney's first feature length animated movie. It was first released in 1937 and over the last 6 decades it has been reissued eight times. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is immortal.

A really famous series of children's films has been the "Shrek" account. It has been billed as "The greatest fairy tale never told" and it has entertained the young and the not getting any younger. The ogre turns out to be the champion and the charming prince is not so captivating. In the end we learn the ancient message that love goes beyond our external looks. Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy have kept up laughing.

So far we have seen "Shrek" in 2001, "Shrek 2" in 2004, "Shrek the Third" in 2007. There are more movies happening including "Shrek Forever After" in 2010 and a planned "Shrek 5" for the year 2013. DreamWorks, the film studio that brought us "Shrek" has said that the as of yet unnamed "Shrek 5" will be the end in the series.

There are 10 remarkable children's films that have been completed by Pixar Animation Studios. "Finding Nemo" in 2003 was the most flourishing to date. Other wonderful additions from Pixar comprise the newest "Up", "The Incredibles", "Cars" and six others.

If you want a children's film without the cartoon there are a few great ones to check out. "Charlotte's Web" the movie, came out in 2006. The movie was very true to the much-loved kid's book of the same name by the author, E.B. White. Both the book and the picture should be on every family unit's bookshelf.

Another celebrated family show is on the best-selling movies list of all times and all genres. "E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial" is from the year 1982. It is a sci-fi adventure that captures the imagination of childhood, a true classic for your family unit library.

Fans of Michael Jackson Cause Poster Sales to Soar

By Jenna Landers

On June 19 2009, you would have been able to pick up a King of Pop poster for less than ten dollars. One week on, there would not have been a lot of change from treble the amount. Today, that continues to be the case; and auction sites across the web have seen a huge rises in the placement of adverts for Michael Jackson posters.

As millions of fans across the world struggle to reconcile Jackson's death, an equally high number of people are looking at the collective outpouring of feeling as a time to profit.

Mindful of where we are economically at the moment, this is only to be expected. Many companies across the world, with exclusive rights for the sole distribution and marketing of Michael Jackson posters, are seeing a welcome boost in sales; which is having an impact on both local and global economies. One such company in the UK has seen sales rocket to two million worldwide in just three weeks.

The extra staff at Pyramid International has been to simply sort through the orders coming in; and even then it has been necessary for staff to come in at the weekend to ensure prompt processing.

Until his death, sales of Michael Jackson Posters were averaging just 10, 000 each year; despite Pyramid holding the exclusive rights to sell posters of the star in the UK. However, the order book is today bursting with orders from the USA, Europe and Australia.

Whilst the tour posters have been redesigned quickly, efficiently and tastefully, (such is the demand of the newly commissioned three poster range), the presses are constantly rolling. Ironic that the one thing meant to jumpstart the King of Pop's finances, and therefore his life, has been the foundation for just this in death.

On a global scale, stories like this are replicated, as people are desperate to own their own final images of Michael Jackson.

It is not just the private companies that are making a profit from the untimely death of the King of Pop however. Whilst a high number of fans frantically try to get one final memento; one final celebration of the man, there are an equally significant number seeing the possibility of cashing in on their collections. Indicative not only of his appeal, but also how years of rumor and scandal have tarnished the man once cast in gold.

If you are willing to sell some of your old Michael Jackson posters, or some other memorabilia, it could be a welcome boost to help buy his unreleased music that is set to hit stores in the lead up the Christmas Holiday period this year. - 18423
