Unprejudiced Commentaries On Motion Pictures From Yesteryear And Present

By Grant Cobb

Many of the utterly without charge movies are "illegally copied", which means they are flouting copyright laws. While you may assume that you are blameless because you didn't truly break the laws, the fact is that regular persons have been prosecuted for downloading copyrighted material. You are not protected.

Pick from the list below and download a wonderful motion picture to watch tonight.

Danny Boy - Ambitious even if arrogant, unrelentingly tedious melodrama of sax player Rea, who trades his sax for a gun after observing a triple murder. This was Jordan's directorial debut, which he in addition did the screenplay. He and leading guy Rea later reteamed for The Weeping Game. (92 minutes, 1982)

Afurika Monogatari - Guide Sayer crashes his jet in wilds of Africa and comes upon a game preserve. Even old Jimmy is dull. The film was filmed in Kenya. Cast includes James Stewart, Philip Sayer, Eleanora Vallone, and Heekura Simba. (120 minutes, 1981)

Jack Frost - A negligent father dies in an auto mishap and comes to life one year later as a snowman in his child's front yard! Nice, genial acting and an lack of aggression make this an alright family film. However, it on no account conquers its quintessential problem, an awfully bizarre storyline. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Joseph Cross, Henry Rollins, and Dweezil Zappa. (95 minutes, 1998)

Philadelphia - Andrew Beckett is a gay attorney who has Aids. He is dying of the illness. He was fired from the traditional law firm he worked for because there was concern of contracting the illness from him. As he battles to live on, he chooses to sue the law firm, to help promote the cause of other Aids victims. His originally homophobic lawyer, fights through his preconception to fight for this cause.

Scream 3 - As the title implies this is the third film in the Scream series. Sydney has run away to Northern California, and is in hiding. Back in L.A. they are filming a movie about Sydney's life. When there are a series of killings on the set of the movie, Sydney must return to L.A. and help the cops locate the murderer.

Down Argentine Way - Enjoyable 20th Century Fox musical with Grable in the movie that increased her to prominence falling in love with slick Argentinean horse breeder Ameche. Miranda is brilliant in her first American movie, acting infectious Brazilian music with her own band and look out for the Nicholas Brothers, who do a dynamite forte number. Picture postcard color all the way through. Cast includes Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, Charlotte Wood, Carrol Naish, Henry Stephenson, and Leonid Kinskey. (90 minutes, 1940)

The Last Time I Saw Archie - Webb's solitary try at comedy is less daft than some of his more earnest films; a shame, since William Bowers' script-based on his own Army experiences had genuine potential, and Mitchum pleasingly underplays as the con guy. By the way, the genuine Archie Chamber sued for invasion of privacy. Cast includes Robert Mitchum, Jack Webb, Martha Hyer, France Nuyen, Louis Nye, Richard Arlen, Don Tangles, Joe Flynn, and Robert Strauss. (98 minutes, 1961)

You can also be sure that you will be getting a first-rate, complete motion picture that is similar to a video store or subscription service except that it is better than that since you can do it all from the ease and comfort of your own dwelling. - 18423

Success is in the Fast Lane of Parkway Drive

By Georg Scheffer

Parkway Drive is an Australian band from the beachfront town of Byron Bay. In 2003, the band members took the name of the street where they had their rehearsals and formed a band using the street's name, which is a real street where they had their all night jam sessions in their laid back hometown.

These 5 hardcore metal men became band mates that were serious about their music and their charisma gave them the uncanny ability to connect with every audience member. They might look like surfer boys, but they are heavy metal musicians that have become great performers.

This was released in August 2005 and the band revved up their notoriously frantic pace of performances and tours. Parkway Drive became a strong act as they performed for headlining shows around Australia and spread their wings to other countries as well. The touring has been the vehicle that they used to really crank up their fan base and visibility.

Current Parkway Drive band members

- Lead Vocalist Winston McCall
- Drummer and Percussionist Ben Gordon
- Lead guitarist Jeff Ling
- Rhythm guitarist Luke Kilpatrick
- Bass guitarist "Pipey" O'Connor

Epitaph Records signed the group in June of 2006 and then released the album "Killing with a Smile" to American audiences in August. 2006 continued to be a time of enormous success as the group appeared on the Taste of Chaos Tour where they played with such favorites as Underoath, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, and Saosin. Fans began demanding more Parkway Drive merch throughout the tour appearances. During the last 2 months of 2006, the group performed at the Homebake Festival, Soundwave Festival, Gravity G Festival, and Sound Fest.

2007 brought continued good fortune when they played at Underworld and treated the public to the first live performance of "The Siren's Song". Parkway Drive was the only Australian group to be asked to participate in the 2007 US Vans Warped Tour. Their album, "Horizons" was finally released in October of 2007 and scored a 10/10 from Blunt Magazine. This metal album went straight to #6 on the ARIA charts upon its release and stayed in the top 40 for weeks.

Music Highlights in Brief: Album Releases were: 2005 release of Killing with a Smile 2007 release of Horizons. Singles and Music Videos include: Boneyards
2008 release of Smoke 'em if Ya got 'em.

When Parkway Drive announced they were headlining a US tour in January 2009 they included some of the favorites like Stick to Your Guns and MyChildren MyBride and are still on the cross-country tour. T-shirts, posters, hoodies and other Parkway Drive merchadise are selling well as fans can't get enough of the new metal icons that are the heaviest of the new metal bands. "Idols and Anchors" and "Romance is Dead" are 2 songs getting a lot of airplay, while "Carrion" and "Guns for Show, Knives for a Pro" are still being downloaded frequently. - 18423

Ringback Tones On Your Cellphone

By Ben Alexander

If you have heard of ringback tones, you will probably also know by now that you can set up multiple ringbacks. Taking advantage of more than one ringback tone on your cell phone can be quite fun. I'm going to give you some ideas for making the most of this feature.

My favorite thing about ringback tones is probably not something that many people think of, but the majority of the ringback clips that I put on my cellphone are not music, but instead they are just plain audio clips. Well, not just any old clips - the ringback tones that I look for mostly fun clips that will make any body that calls me smile or even laugh out loud.

The audio clips that I look for are old style comedy clips. Even though these haven't been in circulation for many many years, and have long ago exited the tv comedy show rotation, I think they are fun to find and put on my phone as my ringback tones. Since a lot of people that call me will be hearing these for the first time, it's actually seems like I have the coolest ringback tone around.

More typically, music clips will be the sound of choice for the majority of customers using ringback tones. If you spend any time searching the web for cool stuff for your cell phone, you've no doubt seen the endless ads for current R&B and pop hits downloadable as ringtones. Although not as prevalent, ringback tone selections pretty much echo the commercially available ringtone collections. The great thing is that the cell phone carriers stay up to date with current music releases, since obviously these are hugely popular.

For those people who are pretty particular about the type of music that they listen to, or would have any interest in being associated with, ringback tones are still a really fun option for you to add to your phone. The music selections vary between different cellphone providers, but I have found that there is at least some selection for just about any musical style that I have been able to think of. If you are looking for new releases, you'll have no trouble finding anything on the charts. For the more obscure genres, your selection will be limited, but you should still be able to find something fun to identify your style.

Setting up and configuring the ringback tones for your cellphone is not a difficult process. You have two options - either use the phone interface and use the number pad to make your selections. Or you can go to the web and browse, listen to, order and configure the schedules you want for your ringback tones to play. Notice that I did say 'order' your selections, since there currently isn't any way to upload your own ringbacks, you are limited to the cell carrier's selection and price list. Even with that, I am certainly going to continue to use ringback tones on my cell, because the cost is pretty minimal, and I really enjoy the added personality it gives my cellphone. At the very least, it's a conversation starter! - 18423

Cheap Acoustic Guitars - Considerations

By Steve Murray

The main reason why a instrument will cost as much as they do is the materials from which they have been made. Certainly when it comes to stringed instruments like the guitar the better quality ones will have been used wood. But along with wood there are other materials such as graphite and plastic which can be used for making cheap acoustic guitars. The problem with these types is that they will not sound as good.

Those people who choose to buy a guitar which is not made from wood often find themselves becoming frustrated because it does not produce the right kind of sound. It is these people who will often give up learning to play the guitar. So rather than spending money on a cheap one instead invest a little more in an acoustic guitar that has been made from wood. Although you will not be saving yourself money you will enjoy playing it much more.

When you begin your search for a cheap acoustic guitar it is best to look for those which come with a solid wooden top rather than being made from plywood. The reason for this being that those made using solid wood provide a much richer and fuller tone to the sound that they produce. Also when buying an acoustic guitar purchase one that has both a solid wood back and sides.

As you will soon discover there are lots of different acoustic guitars to choose from but one that you should seriously consider thinking about buying, is the Seagull S6. Which although expensive is really value for money. The top is made from cedar whilst the back and sides have been made using mahogany and it is these woods that help it produce such a wonderful sound. Because of the quality of the build many professional musicians will still have this guitar and will like to play it, even though they could well have much more expensive ones in their collection.

On average you can expect to spend between $400 and $500 on the Seagull S6. But if you are someone who is really serious about being able to play the guitar well then investing your money in one of these should be high on your list. However, there are some places online where you may find that you can get this guitar for a little less.

Along with the Seagull S6 another very good acoustic guitar to consider purchasing and which is costs less is the Yamaha F310. Rather than a solid wood cedar top this has a spruce one instead. But as with the Seagull S6 this guitar has a mahogany back and sides. On average you can expect to pay between $150 and $200 for this particular guitar and is a very common choice for those people who are serious about learning to play the guitar.

But as well as the Yamaha F310 there is also the Epiphone DR-100 which is slightly less in price than the Yamaha. On average you can expect to spend between $120 and $150 on this guitar. Just like the Yamaha this guitar is made using spruce and mahogany woods and is the ideal instrument for those first starting to learn how to play the guitar. However at some point in the future you will need to upgrade this one for something a little better, especially once you become a more accomplished guitarist.

Although there are plenty of guitars available that cost less than $100 these are not the sort you should consider buying when you are wanting to learn. As you will find the quality of the sound they produce is badly affected and people who choose to buy one of these will often give up learning because they just do not sound as good. The reason for this is that the guitars are not made very well and the materials used because they are poor quality and cheap to buy.

If you are serious when it comes to getting cheap acoustic guitars in order to learn how to play them then you can not go far wrong with getting one of those mentioned above. However, if you still find that you do not have sufficient funds to purchase a new one why not visit your local music or guitar store and see what second hand ones they have. Doing this you will be able to try a number of different ones out and see which one you like the feel of and which feels comfortable when you try to play it. - 18423
