Mastering How to Play Guitar Scales

I would bet money on the fact that nearly all men and some women as well have at one time in their life had the desire to learn how to play guitar.

Today you can get your hands on a beginner guitar pack that includes everything you need to learn how to play guitar like a guitar, strings, amp, tuner etc You can purchase one today for $100 bucks or less, and the quality of the guitar is pretty decent.

Guitars would be also a great deal less complicated to learn than some of the other instruments would be. Add to that the reality that several rock 'n' roll icons as well as country and western headliners utilize guitars. Though it's a shame that a lot of people that started out didn't pursue it, it's nice to realize that we'll never be without great guitarists in the world.

Starting off learning how to play guitar with guitar scales can be a little tough for the beginner. Reason being is that their finger strength and finger tip calluses have not developed yet. This can cause frustration for the beginner as their finger tips will become sore a lot quicker. That said you might want to start with a few simple chords.

If you do want to start with scales I would say start with the pentatonic scale.

The pentatonic scale contains 5 notes where the major scale contains 7. Having to learn a scale with 2 less notes makes it much easier for the beginner. The reason being is that the pattern is 2 notes per string rather than 3 notes per string for the major scale. When you are learning how to play guitar anything you can do to make it easier makes a huge difference.

The cool thing about learning the 1st pattern of the pentatonic scale is that the same patterns is both Major and Minor, its just a matter of shifting the pattern 3 frets. We sometimes teach this as happy finger and sad finger. If you start the patterns with say your index finger on the 5th fret E string you would be playing A minor " Same pattern starting on the 8th fret E string would be C Major (starting with the pinky finger)

Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Stefania Sandrelli, Carla Gravina, Clara Colosimo, Daniele Patella, and Duilio Del Prete. (98 minutes, 1972)

Jurassic Park III: Amusing popcorn film that takes a recipe and plays it for all it's worth as professor-paleontologist Neill is convinced to lead an expedition to the prohibited island where dinosaurs wander, however obviously he hasn't been informed of the realities. The movie is full of scares, and lots of fun proving that a thriller kind doesn't have to be dumb. Cast includes Sam Neill, William H. Macy, Tea Leoni, Alessandro Nivola, Trevor Morgan, Michael Jeter, John Diehl, and Bruce A. Young. (93 minutes, 2001)

A Face in the Rain: At times anxious melodrama with Calhoun as a U.S. espionage agent being concealed in Italy by a local anti-Nazi who's the mistress of a German officer. This is a WW2 drama. Cast includes Rory Calhoun, Marina Berti, Niall MacGinnis, and Massimo Giuliani. (91 minutes, 1963)

Doughboys: This is one of Buster's poorest films, a tiresome Army comedy. Rude sergeant Brophy overrides the few laughs. Cast includes Buster Keaton, Sally Eilers, Cliff Edwards, and Edward Brophy. (79 minutes, 1930)

The Plough and the Stars: Boring, theatrical filmizations of Sean O'Casey's play with Foster as Irish revolutionary leader and Stanwyck as long-agonizing spouse who prays for his life. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, Preston Foster, Barry Fitzgerald, Una O'Connor, Bonita Granville, and Arthur Guards. (78 minutes, 1936)

Alice Sugary Alice: For profit spacecraft unwittingly takes on an extraterrestrial being that wreaks ruthless chaos on the team. Spaceage terror film reverts to 1950's style, although unfolds at a determinate pace, populates the tale with fascinating, vibrant characters, and plants its good scenes with outstanding ability. Cast includes Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Harry Dean Stanton, Yaphet Kotto, and Veronica Cartwright. (117 minutes, 1979)

The Band's First Time

So you have your first gig? After all the practicing your band has done, you finally landed the dream- a chance to play in front of a crowd. This, next to being signed, is one of the greatest experiences and thrills to happen to a knew band. You can show the world how great you are. Like Murphy's Law says "what can go wrong, will go wrong." Every musician in the world can remember the first time they performed on staged, so make it a good experience not a frightful mess.

First, rehearse, rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! No matter how many times you have performed your songs in the garage, when you get on stage it will all sound different, and, if you don't know your part 110%, you will get it wrong. In the garage, you are in one small room and quite close to your fellow band mates. On stage, you can be separated a lot and you may not be able to hear the other guys or what they are playing. If you know your songs very well, you will be able play no matter what sound problems you have.

Secondly, be confident. If you rehearse your songs well, you will do fine. If you are nervous, it will show and you will mess up and no one will wan to hire you again. This is your time to shine. You don't want a bad reputation. Rehearse the songs in order so you know how each one will sound when you play them in the place and you can keep going if there is a problem. This will let you know how you will do in real life and if any problems might happen.

Make sure your guitars have new strings (but put them on at least two hours before you play and stretch them in), your drums have at least a new snare skin, check the condition of the kick drum skin too. You don't want to have an equipment problems while you are playing and getting everything ready and fresh ahead of time can help prevent any issues.

Singers should use a "cheat sheet" and write down the first word of each line to jog their memory in case they get nervous. However, if you are well rehearsed your should not need it! Playing in front of a crowd is a lot different than playing in front of no one and it is normal for people to get nervous.

Your first music gig experience will be one you always remember and one you want to go right. Be sure to follow the tips above so everything goes smoothly and nothing bad happens. Even if problems occur, remember that this your first time- you're learning and that's ok. No matter what happens you'll have a great time and be telling your kids and grandkids about the time you rocked the house down. - 18423
