Dont miss out! Super posters for sale!

By Mike Duke

How many of us have stared at an empty spot on the wall and tried to figure out the best way to cover it? Running from one flea market to the next to find an antique candle sconce or wrought iron wall sculpture is time consuming and, in the end, can become quite expensive. The same counts for innovative modern art, which may be the talk of the town for a while, but eventually will become trivial and forgotten.

Believe it or not, there are other attractive accessorizing options, which will be pleasing to both your pocket book and your eyes. They are called posters, and are sturdy pieces of printed paper art specifically designed to be attached to a wall or other vertical surface. They come in various sizes and are loved by young and old.

Posters can be mass produced or personalized, and because of the wide selection of topics they represent, they can tickle just about anyones fancy. Even the fervent collector could probably find a suitable poster, regardless if he is fanatic about old cars, airplanes, Disney or Audrey Hepburn.

An inviting island, a sleeping baby tucked away in a daisy, a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado... if you are trying to locate one of these specific pictures, look no more. At posterworld.com.au you can find almost anything you have your mind set on, even door posters, of which this company presents the largest collection available in Australia. Furthermore, this company offers premium services, which include quality matt or glossy laminated products.

There is another side to posters. Colorful graphics not only spice up childrens rooms and basement bars, but also leave a large footprint on the world of advertising. Companies, institutions or event organizers may rely on posters to promote their products, services, celebrated people, movies, sport teams, music concerts and other explosive events. In that case, custom printing would be their best option to expressively convey their thoughts, ideas and messages. Business posters are can also be water resistant, which makes them ideal outdoor advertising tools.

Art can be defined as a product of human creativity. There is no limit to forms, shapes and sizes. Posters are also referred to as placards, or wall stickers, and can be viewed as a kind of art as well. Famous artists have spent hours creating the perfect photographs, drawing incredible pictures, or composing unbelievable designs by strategically merging text and images. That is art indeed!

It would be virtually impossible to list all the varieties of posters that have flooded the market by now. We can certainly mention a few, starting with those used in classroom settings. These samples educate and motivate students of all ages, from the alphabet to the periodic table of elements. Posters are also used as artwork reproductions and have been known to brighten up many childrens rooms. On the other side, posters can also be used to communicate. It would not be the first time propagandists and protestors relied on posters to boldly display their political messages and shake the community.

Certain posters are valuable and need to be protected. Deterioration would mean losing a lucrative investment. For those poster fans who do not want to just pin their movie poster to the wall, there are several options to consider. A poster can be matted, covered with a kind of plastic sheeting, or Plexiglas, or can be displayed in a full size frame. Some even have built-in lighting. In the end, how a poster will survive the tides of time will largely depend on how much the owner cares for his treasured Viva Las Vegas Elvis copy, and how much he can afford to spend to preserve it. I-Pods And Their Versatility In Displaying Media

By Cauldwell Pipps

The I-Pod has changed the way in which millions of people listen to music. The Cd's that can now almost be called old fashioned are being slowly pushed aside by the mp3 music download.

Although Cd's are still being sold by the millions every week, they will usually only be used once to copy the contents onto that persons I-pod, and then will probably sit on a rack, doomed to dust-gathering redundancy forevermore.

Although there were other mp3 player before the I-pod revolution, they were nowhere near as successful as the I-pod, one of which belongs to most of the music-listening world, which is pretty much everyone in the physical world.

You could argue that the reason for this is that the I-pod has better functionality and a far more user-friendly interface than other mp3 players that came previously. I would say that this a fair argument to make.

The mp3 players that came previously had only a small LCD screen (if they had one at all) and it was difficult to arrange information on such a small display. The I-pod however has a much bigger display screen, which can show track listings in an easily viewable way.

The touch pad on the I-pod was also a big selling point when it first came out, as not many people had seen anything like it before, it was a novelty and fun to play with on this new, state-of-the-art bit of kit.

Another reason for the I-pods success, is that it supports all kinds of media. Obviously music, but it can display images, play back videos and games can even be played on the newer models.

The I-pod is therefore the perfect accessory for times of boredom. Theres a whole range of things features to keep you entertained with the all in one, gadget of the decade, the I-pod. - 18423

History of Portable Audio Players

By Sampson Zelder

Portable audio players are mobile devices able to play digital music. There are several varieties of portable audio player that include MP3 players, cell phones, boomboxes and mini-disk players. Technically a digital voice recorder might fall into the portable audio category as well, but its a term generally considered for musical accessories.

Portable audio players are taken for granted by todays generation who havent known any of the predecessors that led the way with portable audio players. It was only during the 1970s that music lovers got their first chance to bring music with them in their cars, with the 8-track cassette. Prior to this, people were limited to AM/FM radios. The bulky 8-track resembled a VHS video tape and slotted into a car stereo system fitted for them specifically. They would play music tracks, but between each song as the player moved from one track onto the next there would be several seconds of laborious silence as the reader shifted. The audible clunking of the reading spools on the player were also unwelcome additions to the music.

It wasnt until the 1980s that the cassette tape arrived on the scene, allowing people to realize a truly portable audio device. These smaller plastic cassettes usually fit into plastic protective covers no bigger than a deck of cards and could be played in portable music players called walkmans that could be heard by plugging a set of headphones into the player. Boomboxes were also popular in the late 1980s, small stereo systems with inbuilt cassette players that allowed people to carry around their music players.

By 1988 the compact disc appeared on the market. People took to these quickly as the appeal of not having to rewind or fast-forward through several minutes of tape just to listen to a different song became apparent. Cassette tapes also had a tendency to wear out or the delicate tape could tear, break or come out of the casing. The digital compact disc was far more indestructible and they were much more conveniently sized than the old vinyl records.

The only real down-side to compact discs was the true portable aspect. As CDs required laser light technology to read the digital files stored on the disc, they were able to be bumped or jolted when played in portable audio players like disc-man players. This meant they were unsuitable for cyclists or joggers, who stuck firmly to the stability of the cassette walkman.

As computers began to enter most homes for personal use, digital music and smaller memory storage devices meant that the technology surrounding digital audio jumped ahead in leaps and bounds. The MP3 file allowed people to listen to music through their computer speakers.

As MP3 files grew in popularity and flash memory sticks became more common, the first portable MP3 players were created as a direct result. With some MP3 players as small as a pack of gum, people were now able to listen to portable audio files from gadgets that fit within their pockets. They no longer needed to change the CD or the cassette after every album, but were able to store multiple songs on a tiny flash memory drive that also didnt have the problems of breaking or jolting during activity. In order to add or remove music files from the MP3 player, a person only needed to transfer files from a computer to the portable MP3 player, which has the memory capacity to store an entire music library. Now thats convenience! - 18423

Vocal Recording Essential Techniques

By Evan Shaffhauser

Before you record your next vocal track, take a moment to consider a few basic best practices which will improve any vocal recording. Keep in mind that once you get the performance down, you can always add effects or dirty up your track later, but starting with a clean track is always the best.

Good mic technique is easy to achieve. Keep two things in mind: First, remember that the microphone's diaphragm reacts differently to the subtle variations in your voice, and the intensity of your vocal delivery. Second, your body position and proximity to the mic should be adjusted throughout the vocal delivery depending on the dynamics of your performance.

For quiet, soft, intimate vocals, you can stay just a few inches from the mic from start to finish. If you plan to let loose and sing full volume, stand back a couple of feet from the mic. If your performance requires a mixture of both, move up and back off as needed, and learn to make subtle adjustments, even if it's just for a short phrase.

In a best case scenario, you should position your mouth just an inch or two from the mic, without overloading the levels. If this happens, two things can result. First, you will get digital clipping on your track. Two, you can temporarily shut down your mic in the middle of the performance. Both scenarios effectively ruin your recording, and both are easily avoidable. Just waste a bit of your vocals during loud bursts by pointing your mouth slightly to the side or slightly above the mic.

Be aware of mouth pops and lip noise. If you are using a a stage mic like a Shure SM57 or SM58, the its likely that the pop filter is built in. Stage mics usually have a foam insert just behind the ball shaped mesh protective grid. Studio mics on the other hand, usually have a foam sleeve that slips over the mic. Many musicians and engineers argue that the foam sleeves tend to kill high end frequencies and prefer the nylon O-ring pop-filters. Positioning on of these between the singer and the mic will stop intermittent blast of breath from overloading the mic.

Mouth noise can really make for a lot of clean up work afterward if you dont deal with it during the recording session. There is a surprisingly easy solution: drinking lots of water throughout the recording session will keep mouth noise WAY down. A few extra trips to the bathroom and no mouth noise Voila!

Follow these simple rules and you will get a nice clean vocal track. Once you have that, you can freely add reverb, effects, and whatever else you can think of without worrying about enhancing the bad stuff while you're trying to get at the good stuff. These simple best practices will save hours of fix-it time in the end. - 18423
