Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Here is a romantic comedy set in a beautiful resort in Hawaii. After being dumped by his girlfriend Sarah, he finally decides to go to Hawaii to get over the loss. Unfortunately, when he goes to check in at the resort, the first person he sees is Sarah, and of course her new boyfriend.

The Prince and the Showgirl: Fairly good but slow moving comedy of saucy American show gal Monroe being courted by Prince Regent of Carpathia (Olivier) throughout the 1911 coronation of George V. Filmed in England, with admirable performances by Monroe and Olivier. Cast includes Laurence Olivier, Sybil Thorndike, Jeremy Spencer, and Richard Wattis. (117 minutes, 1957)

When you cannot find a label to you back you in your first record making project, all is not lost. If you have the funding, you can still make the album and then promote your own classical album to sell. In essence, you are going to be your own PR firm to get you noticed and hopefully, eventually signed with a legitimate label.

The first thing that you have to learn is that you cannot try and take on too much. Many have gone down this road and few have come back. You get to the point that you feel as though you are in quick sand and have no shot of ever getting your head back up to take a breath of clean air.

It all starts with setting a goal for yourself in regards to what you want to achieve with your promotion. After you have that in mind, you can go about putting a game plan together to make that happen. You are much better off breaking everything down into simple steps so that you can see the progression over time and get some satisfaction as stages are completed.

The first physical step that you are going to have to make is in putting together an attractive promo kit to hand out. This is going to be similar to the press kit that you would have already put together for the record companies when you were trying to get signed. In this kit you should have: demo CD, a press release, a bio, photos, contact information, and website links if you have a site that is already built.

As you are putting everything together, you need to make sure that it is focused at the right audience. When you are doing something locally, you have no need to spend money trying to attract a national audience. It will only be a waste of money. Stay on target and make sure that you are using your budget effectively.

It is very important at this stage that you do not waste money. In order to make sure that you are getting the most out of every dollar that you spend, you have to keep your efforts focused on the groups of people that are more likely to attend your show. If you target the wrong audience or go too broad with your targeted group, you could end up wasting precious funding that you may never get back.

While there are never any guarantees in this business, if you follow these basic guidelines, you will a much better chance of succeeding in promoting your classic music album and yourself as an artist than if you were to go about it haphazardly. In the end, you can only hope that all of your hard work pays off in the form of a contract with a record label that allows you to continue your dream of being a professional classical musician. - 18423
