Shopping For DJ Equipment

By Irvin G. Santos

When it comes to choosing your DJ equipment you really want to be careful to make sure that you are making all of the right selections. If this is something that you like to do for fun or want to make a living with, it is extremely important to make sure that you have high quality equipment that you can put a lot of trust into. The better you do your job the more jobs you will be hired for. And of course the more jobs you will be hired for, the more money you will make in the end.

The thing is though, DJ equipment can be very expensive, especially if you are looking at new equipment. Those who are just starting out may want to look into gently used DJ equipment. By shopping for current and gently used DJ equipment you will be able to save yourself a lot of money. As you get more jobs and make more money you can easily invest in newer or more advanced equipment.

By shopping for the gently used and cheaper equipment you will be making sure that you are not wasting money in case the DJ career does not work out for you. Instead of being out thousands of dollars you would only be out hundreds of dollars. And even then, you would probably want to sell your equipment to gain back some of the money you put into it. Hopefully though your investment will pay off.

The first thing to do when you begin looking for your used DJ equipment is to check out the Internet. There are a lot of classified ads and auctions that are placed online. The people selling their DJ equipment are most likely people who tried the DJ life and found that it just was not what they were looking for. Maybe it was their lack of skill or maybe it was their lack of business sense that made them fail. Either way you are benefiting from their misfortune.

The best person to purchase used DJ equipment is going to be someone that lives close enough to you that you can meet in person. You could order equipment from the other side of the country but think of the shipping costs. Then again, if you find an amazing deal on some high quality DJ equipment, it may be worth the extra cost to have it shipped to you.

In the end, you will probably feel best by finding someone that is local and can meet you in person. By meeting the seller in person you should be able to test out the equipment. This will allow you the opportunity to test everything before you spend all of your hard earned cash so that you are not finding yourself scammed.

So when it comes to purchasing your DJ equipment you want to make sure that you are not spending too much money and that you are giving yourself the opportunity to test the equipment beforehand. It also is a good idea to make sure that the seller can give some sort of written warranty of at least thirty days. If they cannot promise that the equipment will work for at least thirty days then you will want to purchase from someone else. - 18423

Having said this, choice of playing upside down or reversed is entirely the choice of the individual.

Logistic problems will always arise when jamming with other right handers in a gig on stage. However a left handed player can be positioned to the right of center and the right hander to the left of the center, in that way there is a perfect visual balance and guitarists are clear of each others way. Blues grass accommodates left handed guitarists well and being a left handed musician makes you stand out from the rest.

Left Handed Bass Guitars:

Left handed bass guitars are typically left handed electric guitars that carry the lower octaves and typically are the rhythm in most music. They are much more simple to learn than other left handed guitars, although, many left handed lead guitarists will tend to play both and not limit themselves to playing one. Reasons Why Children Should Learn To Play Piano

By Michael Mickey Charles

With the newest generation of parents, it would seem like the importance of having a child learn to play piano has gone by the waste side. However, there are some important reasons why the mothers and fathers of the past insisted on hours of musical lessons with hard-hitting, success driven piano instructors. Children can learn a lot while trying to learn this instrument, and the lessons theyll take away with them consist of more than just notes, keys and sheet music. Here are a few qualities that a child can develop while they learn to play piano.

Commitment. Learning to play the piano is one of the very few things a child can do that will bring an outstanding sense of accomplishment and achievement with every minute of practice. They will see and feel the results from their commitment, and realize that the more time they put into practice the more music they will be able to play. A child will come to appreciate that they are learning something which grows and develops with them, avoiding the inevitable feelings of boredom that some other past times may bring.

Clarity of Feelings. Playing the piano can be a thought-provoking, emotional experience for children " the perfect outlet for self-expression. Kids can convey their innermost thoughts and feelings safely through music. Playing the piano is healing and provides a healthy way for children to show self-expression especially in light of all the difficulties they face in todays society.

Fortitude. The piano is a complex instrument so it takes time to master its intricacies. For kids, it is quite enjoyable to learn easy songs, but they learn quickly that practice is essential for performing any song they want to learn properly. Patience with learning lessons from instructors is a valuable lesson they learn as well as learning the piano itself in addition to outside influences and requests from friends and family.

Individualism. As children get older, they discover that their identity is not always tied in with their parents and family. They are unique and playing the piano is but one way of being independent and distinct from others. While grade school and junior high kids dont necessarily want to be labeled different, high-schoolers and older teens realize that individuality is important. Being different is cool, especially when you have a piano playing talent.

Dependability. Being held accountable for the care and responsibility of their piano is one way to exhibit their conscientiousness and trustworthiness. Caring for their instrument is an important aspect in playing the piano and once a child is familiar with the maintenance, they soon are well-tuned to their instrument and know instinctively when it needs a little extra care. Many other areas of life are uniquely linked to this responsibility they exhibit. - 18423

Blink 182 Has Not Sold Out on Their Fans With New Album

By Stevie Sanchez

If you're one of those music lovers who dig fun, funky, feel-good music and likes to have their serving of green humor as well, then you would like Blink 182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket album.

This is their fourth studio album, released on June 12, 2001. Following the success of Enema of the State and The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show, the American pop-punk band has once again hit gold with this record.

It has spawned hit singles like The Rock Show, First Date, and Stay Together for the Kids. There were about 4.5 million copies sold worldwide and went double platinum in the United States. This was also Blink 182's only album that debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200 and sold more than 350,000 copies during the first week of release.

In everything that we do, one must always strive for something different, if not better. And this is what Blink 182 has managed to do with this record. Though it still has the same pop-punk sound they were famous for, listeners of the CD will see that the band has exerted more effort to come up with more relevant songs that has more than obscenities in their lyrics. The tracks Stay Together for the Kids, Reckless Abandon, and Shut Up prove this point.

Personally, the band has been able to come out of their shell in this album. The melodies sound good. Each track has very interesting and admirable rifts, and the lyrics have more depth. This is great for a band that has been on the music scene for quite some time. The ability to be able to give your audience something new (and better) will help make you stay longer and keep you interesting.

However, there is always the issue of selling out. For some hard core punk fans, Blink 182 has sold out on their fans with coming up with ballad-type songs, which is really unfair on the band's part. Writing and composing new songs unlike most of their previous works should not be seen as selling out on fans. If anything, it should be seen as an innovation and coming of age.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is a testament to the band's musicality. If you take the time to really listen to the tracks, you will see that Blink 182 has not abandoned the type of music that made them likeable and famous. There are still songs that are loaded with obscenities and good-natured humor (Happy Holidays, You Bastard and Mother's Day)-something that original Blink 182 fans will truly enjoy.

Most noticeable in the album are the new songs that talks about relationships and feature interesting musical technicalities and powerful and passionate vocals. Anthem Pt. 2 is a very well-written song, way better than Anthem Pt. 1 from the third album. This goes to show that Blink 182 has the chops to write songs that have depth and meaning. Story of a Lonely Guy will surprise you. Aside from the deep emotion you will hear from Tom's vocals, the lyrics are unlike the band has come up before. - 18423
