My Selection Of Straightforward Full Length Film Reviews

By Kim Osborn

Movie reviews follow this paragraph. In this paragraph I will give you some search terms to reach movie down load sites. You should try two or three searches, with terms like, "Movie Download Site", "Film Downloading", and "Download Films".

Bulletproof Heart: Fortunate hit guy LaPaglia gets a job he's not really cut out for. He he hired to take out an attractive woman who is in dept with the mob. 4 well-conditioned, well-played characters containing Boyle's gloomy mobster and Craven's dimwit companion-don't count quite make this a hit. Cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, Mimi Rogers, Peter Boyle, Matt Craven, and Joseph Maher. (100 minutes, 1994)

Pajama Party: Fourth beach party film moves inside, changes director and megastar (albeit Frankie Avalon and Don Rickles do have cameos). Kirk plays an alien adolescent who drops in and is understandably confused. Just fair, albeit it's unconditionally fine to see Keaton at work. Cast includes Tommy Kirk, Annette Funicello, Dorothy Lamour, Elsa Lanchester, Harvey Lembeck, Jody McCrea, Buster Keaton, Susan Hart, and Donna Loren. (85 minutes, 1984)

G.O.R.P.: Sophomoric, depressingly unfunny durg-oriented comedy set in a summer camp. Cast includes Michael Lembeck, Dennis Quaid, Philip Casnoff, Fran Drescher, David Huddleston, Robert Trebor, Julius Harris, and Rosanna AIquette. (90 minutes, 1980)

Alien Nation: In the near future, a race of strange-looking aliens is gradually (and grudgingly) being integrated into civilization. Worldweary L.A. cop Caan takes one of the aliens on as his partner, so he could track down the aliens who murdered his prior associate. Cast includes James Caan, Mandy Patinkin, Terence Stamp, Kevin Chief Howard, and Leslie Bevins. (94 minutes, 1988)

Mrs. Dalloway: Redgrave is glowing as the spouse of a British M.P., who on the night of a soiree, thinks back to her youth when she selected between a safe, secure life and a more challenging presence with a gentleman who genuinely loved her. McElhone is a phenomenal match for Redgrave in the flashback scenes. Cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, Natascha McElhone, Rupert Graves, Michael Kitcben, Alan Cox, Lena Headey, Amelia Bulhnore, Sarah Badel, Oliver Ford Davies, Katie Carr, John Sitting, Robert Hardy, Margaret Tyzack, and Phyllis Calvert. (97 minutes, 1998)

Big Time: This is a Tom Delay compilation. Show footage filmed at LA's Wiltem Show is combined with scenes of the chameleon like Delay as assorted and miscellaneous characters: you'll see Delay, the sleazy lounge lizard, Delay's the gravel-voiced crooner, and Delay's the genuinely astounding actor. For Tom Delays fans, this is the next best thing to noticing him live. (87 minutes, 1988)

The Singing: Nun: Sappy comicbook stuff based on an actual Belgian nun whose dedication is split between religious work and making hit records. Cast includes Debbie Reynolds, Ricardo Montalban, Greer Garson, Agnes Moorehead, Chad Everett, Katharine Ross, Ed Sullivan, Juanita Moore, and Tom Drake. (98 minutes, 1966)

The Egyptian: Ponderous, often accidentally ludicrous biblical times soaper with Purdom cast as the tender, truth seeking title personality, set in old Egypt. Darvi's behavior as a femme fatale is humorously terrible. Cast includes Jean Simmons, Champ Mature, Gene Tiemey, Michael Wilding, Bella Darvi, Peter Ustinov, Edmund Purdom, Judith Evelyn, Henry Daniell, John Carradine, and Tommy Rettig. (140 minutes, 1954)

The Big Trail: Mythical Western might appear creaky to some watchers, although it continues to be considered one of the most impressive early talkies. John Wayne was "found" for featuring role, and already shows his laidback charm. Cast includes John Wayne, Marguerite Churchill, El Brendel, Tully Marshall, Tyrone Power, Sr., David Rollins, and Ian Keith. (110 minutes, 1930)

Drum Rudiments are a Needed Skill

By Andrean Gonzales

Drum rudiments are the basics---the essentials of drumming. Learning drum rudiments is like learning how to play or do anything. You need a good solid foundation of what you are doing so you can be the best at what you do. If you become really good at playing drum rudiments, you will have the tools necessary to become a good drummer. And believe me; it will take practice to become proficient.

There are 40 drum rudiments one should be proficient. These include single stroke, roll, flam, include the flam, paradiddle, and drag. These are the basics to being a complete and well-rounded drummer. If you have ever watched experienced drum and bugle corps, you will see the drum line knows their rudiments extremely well. Below is a listing of the basic rudiments.

Single Stroke Rudiments---Single Stroke Roll, Single Stroke Four, Single Stroke Seven

Roll Rudiments--- Multiple Bounce Roll, Triple Stroke Roll, Double Stroke Roll, Five Stroke Roll, Six Stroke Roll, Seven Stroke Roll, Nine Stroke Roll, Thirteen Stroke Roll, Fifteen Stroke Roll and Seventeen Stroke Roll

Flam Rudiments--- Flam Accent, Flam Tap, Flamacue, Flam Paradiddle, Single Flammed Mill, Flam Paradiddle-diddle, Pataflafla, Swiss Army Triplet, Inverted Flam Tap and Flam Drag

Paradiddle Rudiments--- Single Paradiddle, Double Paradiddle, Triple Paradiddle and Paradiddle-diddle

Drag Rudiments--- Ruff, Single Drag Tap, Double Drag Tap, Single Dragadiddle, Drag Paradiddle #1, Drag Paradiddle #2, Single Ratamacue, Double Ratamacue and Triple Ratamacue

When learning to play rudiments, be sure you can play them slowly at first before speeding up. Like most things, practicing mistakes will reinforce the mistakes. So, make sure you start slowly and increase your speed slowly. Some rudiments will be easier to play in the beginning than others so all won't be mastered at the same speed. Some will be frustrating so just slow down. Again, don't practice mistakes.

Rudiments can be practiced almost anywhere as long as you have a good surface which provides enough resistance to resemble a snare or practice pad. You can practice with no sticks but may not really help as much as one would believe. Practice with sticks. Remember to start slowly, increase speed a little at time, do not get frustrated and have fun. You will get better faster than you think. - 18423
