La Provinciale: Exceptional venture fantasy in reference to an orphan gal who is chased by sky pirates and a malevolent government representative who wants to get their hands on the supernatural quartz that permits her to float and also keeps the secret to finding a treasure, a full island in the clouds. Stunning visuals, exhilarating set pieces and gripping characters make this a masterpiece of action film making; energized or otherwise, empowering a real sense of amazement. Cast includes Anna Paquin, Cloris Leachman, Mark Hamill, Mandy Patinkin, and Andy Dick. (124 minutes,'86)
The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy: Arthur Dent is about to see his house get bulldozed down for a new road coming through. His best friend is unconcerned, and takes him to the pub for some beers. Then he shocks Arthur by telling him that he is an alien, and that the Earth will be destroyed in a few minutes, as a hyperspace bypass is being built. Arthur has a moment or two to decide to go with his friend, as they will hitchhike on a passing space freighter. He decides to go, and this starts an incredible adventure.
Disturbia: Kale has had his life turned upside down. His father's death, which he feel responsible for has traumatized him badly. Snapping on an insensitive teacher, he punches the guy out. Instead of jail time he must serve a period of house confinement. Going stir crazy stuck at home, Kale, and his girlfriend Ashley, start spying on the neighbors. This voyeurism gets serious when they start to suspect that one of the neighbors is a serial killer.
The Omen: This is a remake of the classic'76 original. Born under suspicious circumstances, young Damian is a difficult child that his mother thinks he is evil. As things develop we soon realize that Damian is in fact the son of the devil. Now his father must go to Megiddo to learn how to stop the antichrist.
