Color, landscape, photography all awesome, with moving, Cast includes John Wayne, Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Ward Bond, Natalie Wood, John Qualen, Antonio Moreno, Dorothy Jordan, and Pat Wayne.(119 minutes, 1956)
The Hand That Rocks The Cradle: Appearing out of nowhere, and seemingly the perfect nanny, Peyton Flanders is really someone very different. Hired to care for the Bartels new child, she is really out for revenge. Will the Bartels figure out their predicament before it's too late?
Barnyard: Excited zaniness set on a farm where, after sundown, the animals turn the barn into a loud nightclub. James is Otis, a moo-moo cow who is very mature, much to the chagrin of his dad, Ben Elliott, who keeps watch for preying coyotes when the others party. Irrera stands out as Duke the Mutt. Cast includes Courtney Cox, Sam Elliott, Danny Glover, Wanda Sykes, Andie MacDowell, David Koechner, and Laraine Newman. (90 minutes, 2006)
Tet Paisan: Early Rossellini classic, largely improvised by a mainly nonprofessional cast. 6 vignettes portray life in Italy throughout WW2. The best has American nurse looking for her lover in rubble of Florence. Cast includes Cast includes Carmela Sazio, Gar Moore, Bill Tubbs, Harriet Off-white, Maria Michi, Robert minivan Loon, Dale Edmonds, Carla Pisacane, and Specks Johnson. (90 minutes, 1946)
Nomad: On the desolate steppes of 18th-century Kazakhstan, when opponent tribes battle for freedom, mystic combatant Oraz saves a baby descended from Genghis Khan who is destined to join the country as "Mansur". Historical fable has nasty sabers-on-horseback fights and excellent production layout (genuine human being add-ons) however trudging storytelling. Cast includes Kuno Becker, Jay Hernandez, Jason Scott Lee, and Mark Dacascos. (110 minutes, 2005)
Fond: Seductive, refreshingly informal tirade in regards to the details of a mixed-race relation between a second-generation Pakistani Yaqub living with his Muslim family in Glasgow and a Catholic schoolteacher. All the characters are vividly etched, and Loach and screenwriter Paul Laverty offer no easy answers to the complications their characters confront. Cast includes Kenneth Loach. Atta Yaqub, Eva Birthistle, Shabana Bakhsh, Shamshad Akhtar, Ahmad Riaz, Ghizala Avan, and Pasha Bocarie. (104 minutes, 2004)
