Learn How to Play the Guitar in 5 minutes!

By John Edward

Yep, you would be surprised at what you can learn from just a few minutes of your time. The guitar has been around for centuries, and during this period there have been some magnificent professionals to give us some of the ultimate sounds of the music industry.

If you want to start a career in the guitar world or maybe as a hobby, it takes patience, dedication, and commitment. Plus, you'll also have to account for the physical effects as well.

The first thing that you'll notice is calluses. It happens to every guitar player both new and old, so get used to them. Remember, the strumming of the strings is relentless and there are going to be some "hard labor" going on with your hands. Plus, we promise you the shoulders will get sore.

It doesn't matter who your idol is at playing the guitar, everyone started at the beginning. They had to deal with everything you're going to have to deal with each time you play.

Before you learn how to play the guitar, you have to know how to tune it. In order to produce good sounds, your guitar needs proper tuning. The first step is to tune the lower E string, which is at the bottom. Next is the A string (2nd from the bottom), D string (3rd from the bottom), G string (fourth from the bottom) and B string (5th from the bottom). The last string to tune is the high E string. You can also use electronic tuners; these are available at most any music stores.

You can pay the music store to tune your guitar for you. However, it really is a skill that you should learn on your own. Otherwise, you'll be spending a lot of money on having your guitar tuned. You can ask someone at a music store to teach you how to tune a guitar. They may do it for free, or they may charge a small fee. It is worthwhile to learn because you'll also ensure that any time you're ready to play, your guitar will sound its best.

After you've properly tuned everything, learn to read the guitar tabs. You can find tutorials for this all around the Internet, and to be honest, most of them are accurate. Just place your fingers on each string, then strum the guitar using the other hand. It's going to take some practice, so don't think you'll be a master after one evening. Just make sure you start out playing easier chords because it will help in the long run. The simple ones are C, G, and A.

Alright! You're now ready to play the guitar. Did it take you five minutes to read this and position the fingers? Hopefully it did, and now you have yourself a new hobby. Happy Playing! - 18423
