Give Up The Illegal Movie Downloads Habit
The internet has brought many things, but some of them aren't always good, such as in the case of illegitimate movie downloads. Because they are so common, it is easy to access them without ever getting caught. Ask any young person confidentially and they will likely admit to downloading movies whether for their friends or for their own pleasure at home.
Don't panic and think you're doing anything illegal just because you watch videos on YouTube. This is a far different process, because the owners of the videos post them up willingly for you to watch.
However, major Hollywood films and other movies are owned by the people that make them, and the people who post them online for your use are stealing them from the owners.
Many people make excuses that watching illegally downloaded movies isn't harming anyone. Sometimes they even convince themselves that while the downloaders might get in trouble, they are safe themselves. However, this is a dangerously incorrect way to think. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) seriously condemns this practice and tags movie downloaders as "a movie thief whose crimes carry serious legal consequences."
You wouldn't deal with stolen goods on the street, and so you shouldn't have to deal with them online. It can be tempting to get your hands on your favorite movie before it's available on DVD, but it just isn't fair to the people who put a lot of hard work into the process. There really aren't excuses for this kind of behavior. It's just downright selfish.
If all the people who did illegal downloading were caught, prisons would be filled with them and the amount of fines being paid by others would add to a huge amount of money.
Rather discouraging, however, it has done little to raise the concerns of most people, who continue to do what they want.
It's sad to say, but people are naturally selfish, and if they think they can get away with something, they're probably going to do it. With downloading movies, they're usually right, and so they won't stop no matter how much it could hurt others. Of course, it's wrong to keep using excuses like this, but it just doesn't stop people from doing it.
You really need to take a look at the morality of what you're doing. While it's easy to ignore that somebody is directly affected by everyone who downloads a movie as opposed to buying it, this doesn't change the fact that it is true.
Imagine if you were in their shoes. Knowing how frustrating it would be will hopefully make you more sympathetic.
There are all sorts of people involved in the movie industry. Some of them make a lot of money, but many of them don't. It's easy not to feel bad about high-paid actors losing money, but what about the extras and other workers? Tell everybody you know to stop downloading movies illegally. They may not like the idea, but in the end, they'll feel better about themselves. - 18423
