Strange Illusion: Enthralling however unconvincing melodrama, a B-film update of Hamlet, with teenager Lydon having questions in regards to slick talker William who's wooing his widowed mom Eilers. Normally weird William feels in this low-spending limit quickie. Cast includes James Lydon, Sally Eilers, Warren William, and Regis Toomey. (80 minutes,'45)

The Barretts of Wimpole Street: Handsome, well-performed, and most amusing MGM production of classic romance between Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning in'th century England. Director Franklin redid this 2 years later. Cast includes Norma Shearer, Fredric March, Charles Laughton, and Ian Wolfe. (110 minutes,'34)

Infinity: Sugary however choppy film based on the life of Richard Feynman, whose relation with Arline Arquette in pre-WW2. N.Y.C. takes a fateful turn when he is enlisted to work on the Manhattan Project. The scientist won the Nobel Prize in'65. Cast includes Matthew Broderick, Patricia Arquette, Peter Riegert, Dori Brenner, and James LeGros. (117 minutes,'96)

The Happiest Days of Your Life: Pat Patricia to take issues into her own hands. Beautifully orchestrated and photographed by Jack Hildyard, with Laughton having a stellar performance in the lead role. The movie loses steam during the journey but it is still amusing. Cast includes Alastair Sim, Margaret Rutherford, Gentleman Middleton, Joyce Grenfell, Edward Rigby, Muriel Aked, John Bentley, Bernadette O'Farrell, and Richard Wattis. (84 minutes,'50)
