Quality Plot Lines Of A Unique Selection Of Hollywood Hits

By Enrique Potts

We have reviews of some movies listed below. You can get to a good film download site through the search engines. "Music Videos Downloads" or "Movie Download Web Sites" might get you a good result, if they don't, try "Home Movie Rental".

R.P.M.: The old styled lenient Quinn becomes the head of the university, and then approves a bust of liberals to spare the establishment. Inept Erich Segal script, comparably poor Kramer direction gives the film a certain camp value. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Ann-Margret, Gary Lockwood, Paul Winfield, Graham Jarvis, and Alan Hewitt. (97 minutes, 1970)

Good Sam: Virtually a complete misfire, in spite of the cast and director. Cooper is an incurable good guy in this inanimate comedy. Cast includes Gary Cooper, Ann Sheridan, Ray Collins, Edmund Lowe, Joan Lorring, and Ruth Roman. (113 minutes, 1948)

Club Extinction: A wave of suicides stuns future Berlin. Patrol investigator Niklas starts to suspect engagement of Beals, spokesperson for an Eden like resort, who's connected to media tycoon Dr. Marsfeldt (Bates). Cast includes Alan Bates, Jennifer Beals, Jan Niklas, Hans ZiscWer, Benoit Regent, Peter Fitz, Andrew McCarthy, Wolfgang Preiss, and Isolde Barth. (112 minutes, 1990)

Play Time: Hulot (Tali) drifts through an unrecognizable modern Paris of steel and glass skyscrapers. Scene and noise gags abound in this superbly created film. These assorted effects are connected by Hulot's attempt to keep a meeting. Cast includes Jacques Tali, Barbara Dennek, Jacqueline Lecomte, Valerie Camille, and Leon Doyen. (126 minutes, 1967)

Dangerous When Wet: A cute musical comedy, one of Esther's best, in regards to a well to do family whose leading light tries to swim the English Channel. Williams cavorts underwater with the energized Tom and Jerry in one memorable scene. She later wedded leading-guy Lamas in real life. Cast includes Esther Williams, Fernando Lamas, Jack Carson, Charlotte Greenwood, Denise Darcel, William Demarest, Donna Corcoran, and Barbara Whiting. (95 minutes, 1953)

MacArthur: An intense look at the legend of the elaborate military chief throughout WW2 and the Korean War. Peck is phenomenal although the film doesn't hold the punch of Patton. Cast includes Gregory Peck, Dan O'Herlihy, Ed Flanders, Sandy Kenyon, Dick O'Neill, and Craft Fleming. (130 minutes, 1977)

The Slave: Interminable Italian spectacle. A child of Spartacus learns of the tale of his dad and promises retribution. The excellent photography is the only positive aspect of this film. Cast includes Steve Reeves, Jacques Semas, Gianna Maria Canale, and Claudio Gora. (102 minutes, 1963)

Aguirre the Wrath of God: A commanding, spellbinding story of a misled conquistador who leads a group of men from Europe in 1560 to South America on a journey looking for the 7 cities of gold. The dreamlike film was shot on location in remote Amazon forests; Kinski is perfect as the crazy Aguirre. Cast includes Klaus Kinski, Ruy Guerra, Del Negro, Helena Rojo, Cecilia Rivera, and Peter Berling. (94 minutes, 1972)

Sensations of 1945: The fame hungry Powell shows journalist O'Keefe how to become successful in this campy musical. One marvelous number has her tap dancing inside a mammoth pinball game. Cast includes Eleanor Powell, Dennis O'Keefe, C. Aubrey Smith, Eugene Pallette, W. C. Territories, Cab Calloway, and Sophie Tucker. (86 minutes, 1945)
