Rambo: Much better than part II, this one continues to be firmly footed in the genre of mindless Action Films, as our brawny idol goes behind Russian battle lines in Afghanistan to save his buddy from a prison fortress. You will see lots of eruptions to keep the action going and some funny stuff thrown in too. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc de Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focas, and Sasson Gabai. (101 minutes, 1988)
Good Times: Back while the harmonizing twosome was still considered wacky, they made this entertaining little film, with Sonny day dreaming about their potential film roles and he and Cher harmonizing "I Got You Hottie." Irreconcilable Differences: A bittersweet comedy of a young couple that wed and found success till prosperity in Hollywood causes them to lose sense of what's seriously vital in their lives. The outcome is that their 10 year old baby girl sues them for divorce! Cast includes Ryan O'Neal, Shelley Long, Drew Barrymore, Sam Wanamaker, Allen Garfield, Sharon Stone, and David Paymer. Rhythm on the Range: Ruined N.Y.C. 'city gal' runs away on the eve of her marriage ceremony and heads west to avoid gangsters. She meets a cowboy, who tries to win her over. Involving, featherweight musical comedy contains Bing's attractive rendition of "I Might't Flee from You." Cast includes Bing Crosby, Frances Farmer, Bob Bums, Martha Raye, Lucille Gleason, Samuel S. Jupiter's Darling: Lavish musical of Robert Sherwood's Street to Rome, which weighs down in boredom. Williams is a temptress who dallies with Hannibal (Keel) to stop an attack on Rome. Cast includes Esther Williams, Howard Keel, George Sanders, Marge and Gower Victor, and Norma Varden. (96 minutes, 1955)
Big Time: This is a Tom Delay compilation. Show footage filmed at LA's Wiltem Show is combined with scenes of the chameleon like Delay as assorted and miscellaneous characters: you'll see Delay, the sleazy lounge lizard, Delay's the gravel-voiced crooner, and Delay's the genuinely astounding actor. For Tom Delays fans, this is the next best thing to noticing him live. (87 minutes, 1988)
Barfly: Surprisingly entertaining photograph of L.A. lowlife, and boozy, recklessly macho author Henry Chinaski, played with bravado by Rourke. Dunaway is magnificent as his alcoholic soulmate. Based on the auoobiographical writings of cult top choice Charles Bukowski, who might be noticed on one of the bar stools. Cast includes Mickey Rourke, Faye Dunaway, Alice Krige, Jack Nance, J.c. Quinn, and Frank Stallone. (97 minutes, 1987)
S.o.B.: An inventor hatches a plan to turn his latest turkey into a hit: juice it up with pmlography and have his spouse-megastar (Andrews) plain her breasts. A glib satire on contemporary Movieland tosses in everything from black humor to dry, with wildly choppy outcomes. This was Holden's last film. Cast includes Julie Andrews, William Holden, Richard Mulligan, Robert Preston, Robert Vaughn, Loretta Swit, Larry Hagman, Marisa Berenson, Robert Webber, Stuart Margolin, Craig Stevens, Shelley Winters, Rosanna Arquette, and Jennifer Edwards.
