Guitar Hero Makes a Legendary Move
There is perhaps no family of video games on the planet right now that has gained such a massive following as the Guitar Hero franchise, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why. The hands on, intuitive nature of the Guitar controller gives someone who may not have what it takes to be a stellar musician the ability to sound as if they were the next Jimi Hendrix. With each release, fans grow hungry for more, which is why Activision and Neversoft are keeping the ball rolling with their installment of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Available on all platforms, Legends of Rock adds a fresh and original game experience even for those who own other games within the series. For those that are not familiar with these games the premise is simple to follow. You use a guitar controller and push the buttons that correspond with the colors that are scrolling down your screen.
While the game play in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is 99% similar to that of the previous games, the game boasts an entirely new and different soundtrack, which is arguably the best in the series. Along with the new songs comes an impressive list of rock and roll legends (hence the name) such as Slash and Jimi Hendrix that pop up as the game progresses. While the storyline is fairly straight forward and minimal, it's important to remember that this game is not about story. The fun and replay factor is 100% from the ability to quickly pick up the controller and sound/feel like a rock star.
The sound on Guitar Hero III is incredible, especially on a surround sound system. The game appropriately cranks up the sound when you want it to the most. The graphics leave a lot to be desired, however, as I said about the storyline...This is a game about the music and not much more!
If you're looking for an incredibly fun, easy to pick up (but impossible to put down) game to share with all your friends, Legends of Rock is the one for you! - 18423
