Another awesome Nicholson acting job anchors this fine-tuned film, which sidesteps recipe in favor of nuance. The Vow is based on the novel by Friedrich Durrenmatt. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Robin Wright Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Vanessa Redgrave, Tom Noonan, Patricia ClllIkson, Michael O'Keefe, Aaron Eckhart, Costas Mandylor, Helen Mirren, Mickey Rourke, and Sam Shepard. The Aviator: A biography of sorts that tells of the early years of the famous Howard Hughes. He was involved in many fields and endeavors, including oil, film, casinos, and aviation. Through all his ventures he turned millions into billions.
Basic Instinct: Detective Nick Curren is investigating a murder. Sexy and famous author Catherine Tramell is becoming a prime suspect. She lures him into a torrid love affair. Now he struggles to resolve her guilt or innocence in the case.
In The Line Of Fire: Frank Horrigan, an overly seasoned Secret Service man, who was working the day J.F.K. was killed, finds himself in another tough situation with a President. Mitch Leary, an embittered former C.I.A. assassin, is after the President. Horrigan will be tested again.
About Schmidt: Another great role played by Jack Nicholson. He is a recently retired, successful insurance agent who now has nothing but time on his hands. He starts to look back at his life, and he begins to question the path he chose for himself. This movie is a bitter sweet comedy. Stars include Jack Nicholson, Hope Davis, and Dermot Mulroney. (2002 Comedy)
Clouds Over Europe: This 1950s B-film premise is excellent. 2008-fashion through the lens of a video camcorder clutched by a man who starts out shooting a buddy's goodbye reception and then gets snared up in "recording" everything that occurs. Runs on pristine adrenaline and by no means lets up, with some excellent stuns and a daunting being. Cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T. J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, and Chris Mulkey. (85 minutes, 2008)
